The Tools I Use in my Business that Make Collaboration Easy

It’s no secret that communication is a key component of a successful partnership. So when I set my business up, I knew I needed to make sure the collaboration process would be as smooth as possible. Besides, the last thing I’m trying to do for my clients is add more to their plate. Whether we’re brainstorming ideas, working through details, or exchanging information – I’ve got some great tools that make collaboration easy!

DUBSADO

This is a business management platform that I use for almost everything. This isn’t necessarily a tool you would use in your business (like I wouldn’t use a salon software system) so I won’t bore you with too many details. Dubsado makes online collaboration easy by allowing clients to schedule calls, electronically sign proposals and contracts, pay invoices, fill out forms and questionnaires, and securely exchange sensitive information. Clients even have access to their own private portal where all that information lives! And don’t worry, you wouldn’t have to learn anything about this tool (or even know that I use it) because all the links are provided to you via email.

ASANA

A client actually introduced this tool to me a few months ago and I’ve been absolutely loving it! Asana is like a virtual to do list/project tracker. If you want to keep close tabs on your project progress, I can easily set up task tracking in Asana. That way we can work out details using the comment feature and stay on top of deadlines. They have a great desktop platform and a convenient mobile app. While some features live behind a paywall, the basics are fantastic and totally free. I use this to keep track of all my business and personal projects. I only wish I would have discovered this tool sooner!

GOOGLE DRIVE

You’re probably familiar with this one already, but it’s a great way to virtually share documents, notes, pictures, and large files (like audio/video). You can easily take information that already lives on your computer and upload it to Google Drive for smooth collaboration.

TEXT MESSAGING

This one is kind of obvious, but most of my clients prefer a quick text when it comes to reminders or simple questions. Sometimes this is the most effective way to communicate and I’m all for it!

Working with virtual support shouldn’t cause more stress than it alleviates, which is why I use tools that make collaboration easy.
